Clinocardium nuttallii (heart cockle)

Found in area 9.

The heart cockle can be found at low tides on the sand south of the boat ramp just in from the eel grass.

This cockle gets its name from the similarity to the shape of a heart when viewed sideways. This specimen measures 4.25 inches long and 5 inches wide.
