Cancer magister (Dungeness crab)

Found in areas 4 to 5 to 10.

The best time to spot Cancer magister is during a minus tide. They are beyond the mussel beds hunkered down in sand or crawling in the eelgrass. They look very much like Cancer productus. The quick way to differentiate is the pinchers. This species has white tipped pinchers.
